Other dining venues at Thanda Manzi include sprawling lawns for picnics and the Rock Boma, offering al fresco dining beside a crackling fire, ideal for special occasions. For light meals and coffee, Mountain View Deli is the perfect place to meet friends and catch up, while overnight guests can enjoy meals in the cosy River View venue.
An exhilarating & technical 4 kms hike through the aloe valley and hills, incorporates many glorious panoramic views. The vistas, coupled with the numerous bird species is sure to inspire some aspiring ornithologist to set up a base for a weekend or two. Birds regularly spotted at Thanda Manzi are most notably fish eagles, goliath herons, plover families, kingfishers (malachite and giant), spotted dikkops, swallows, ducks (various species), geese, African & Green Wood hoopoes, crows, loeries, honey suckers, guinea fowl, crested barbets, owls and many more.
