Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at Nibela Lake Lodge.
Children 0 – 2 years are accommodated at no charge.
Children 3 – 11 years sharing with 2 full paying adults charged at 50% of the adult rate.
Children 12 years and older will be charged full adult rates.
Maximum number of children per room: 1 child may share with 2 adults in a room on a camp bed or cot.

About Nibela Lake Lodge

Situated on the banks of Lake St Lucia, this private, remote lodge is surrounded by the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park in Hluhluwe, just 3 hours away from Durban. The area sustains an abundance of birds and wildlife. The ideal weekend getaway for those looking to escape city life, the family-friendly lodge offers accommodation in beautifully appointed timber chalets with lakeside views. Located near a World Heritage Site, Nibela Lodge is the only accommodation on the banks of Lake St Lucia.

ROOM TYPES:

The luxury air-conditioned thatched chalets are constructed of timber and interconnected by wooden walkways, which are set amongst the trees overlooking the lake and unscathed bushveld.

Deluxe Chalet: The Deluxe Chalet has a four-poster king size extra length bed and en suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. It also features an outdoor shower and bath that overlook the lake. This chalet sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Double Chalets: The 10 Double Chalets have one king size extra length double bed (can be split to 2 X ¾ twin beds) and an en suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. These chalets sleep a maximum of 2 adult guests and 1 child sharing on a camp bed or cot.

About iSimangaliso Wetland Park

Lake St Lucia is the largest estuarine lake in Southern Africa, covering an area of approximately 350 square kilometres, and falls within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Nibela Lake Lodge is the only privately owned lodge on the northern banks of the lake.
Lake St Lucia is rich in fauna, flora, hippos and crocodiles and boasts over 400 bird species.
The iSimangaliso park was named a world heritage site because of the rich biodiversity, unique ecosystems and natural beauty occurring in a relatively small area. Animals occurring in the park include elephant, leopard, black and southern white rhino, Cape buffalo, and in the ocean, whales, dolphins, and marine turtles including the leatherback and loggerhead turtles.
The park is also home to crocodiles ,hippopotami and African lion.
