About Teremok Lodge and Spa
Teremok was purchased in 2002 as a three-bedroom house and when it was discovered that the property was steeped in an amazing rich history, dating back to the Russian revolution, it was decided to recreate a space that incorporated the decades old doors, sash windows and wooden flooring.
Recreating a new space that was still true to the essence of the original home, built and joyously lived in for so many years, was a year-long process undertaken with love and abundant passion by the owners Debbie, Tracy and Kim. They are backed up by a hand-picked team of staff whose genuine smiles and hospitality have seen the Teremok scoop numerous service excellence awards over the last 22 years, and they are currently rated the number one hotel in Umhlanga via Trip Advisor. All of this is what makes this boutique hotel so incredibly unique.
The spa has master therapists who offer a host of outstanding treatments. One of their specialities is CBD massages and reflexology with instant results being felt by clients.
More active guests can participate in swimming, snorkelling, coastal walks, deep-sea fishing. Dolphin boat cruises and whale viewing tours are also available and golfers can choose from various excellent courses, including the Durban Country Club, Mount Edgecombe Country Club, Simbithi Country Club and Umhlali Country Club. Microlight flights are available over the coastline from an airfield in the Ballito area.

Getting There
FROM KING SHAKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
- From the King Shaka International Airport, travel approximately 3km before you take the N2 south bound towards Durban (16km to Teremok), going through a toll
- At the multi-level interchange, take the exit onto the M41 towards Umhlanga.
- 1km later, take the off-ramp for the M12 to Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Umhlanga Ridge (Please note – this is the second off-ramp. Do not take the first off ramp towards Gateway)
- At the traffic lights at the top of the off-ramp turn left into Umhlanga Rocks Drive
- Proceed 800m along Umhlanga Rocks Drive past Umhlanga Hospital until you reach the second traffic circle and take the third exit which takes you into Umhlanga Rocks
- At the fourth set of traffic lights (just over the bridge over the M4 from Durban), turn right (at Umhlanga Centre / Steers) into Ridge Road
- At the first intersection, turn left into Ocean Way and follow it to the bottom, following the road right into Marine Drive
- Travel 800m along Marine Drive where you will find Teremok at number 49 on your right
FROM JOHANNESBURG/INLAND
- From Johannesburg/inland KwaZulu-Natal take the N3 east bound towards Durban
- At the multi-level interchange just outside Durban, take the N2 north bound exit to Stanger (21 km to Teremok)
- At the second multi-level interchange thereafter (not the one at the Umgeni), take the exit onto the M41 towards Umhlanga.
- At the traffic lights at the top of the off-ramp, turn right onto the M41 to Umhlanga
- 1km later, take the off-ramp for the M12 to Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Umhlanga Ridge (Please note – this is the second off-ramp. Do not take the first off ramp towards Gateway)
- At the traffic lights at the top of the off-ramp turn left into Umhlanga Rocks Drive
