About Sable Ranch Bush Lodge
In 1972, the owners of Sable Ranch realised that poaching and hunting had utterly decimated the wildlife in Africa and actively started buying up more farmland to create a haven for all wildlife, to breed antelope for the game farm market, and to provide a place where tourism could thrive and contribute to the eco development of the region.
Sable Ranch was formed in 1983, which is situated in the North West Province of the Republic of South Africa. Sable Ranch was registered in 1991 as a Natural Proclaimed Heritage Site with the SA Natural Heritage program of 1920.
The farm covers about 2500ha and is situated approximately 30km north of Brits in the Veekraal area. The Ranch consist of broken granite outcrops and Magalies bushveld woodland with red bushwillow (Combretum apiculatum) as the dominant species. It is very picturesque and a haven for predator species such as leopards.
