About Elephant Walk Retreat

Elephant Walk Retreat is situated on the banks of the Crocodile River, just a stone’s throw from the southernmost entrance of the Kruger National Park, Crocodile Bridge Gate. The Elephant Walk land is a family heritage dating back to the early 70s.

ROOM TYPES:

2-Bedroom Chalets

Inyati (Suite 1) – Sleeps six guests. Two bedrooms comprise a master bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom has two single beds. The lounge has a sleeper couch and television. A full kitchen includes an oven, fridge, stove, kettle and toaster. The patio features a dining table and braai area. The chalet is air conditioned. One bathroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. There is also a second, separate toilet.

Bhejane (Suite 2) – Sleeps six guests and comprises two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has two single beds. The lounge has a sleeper couch and television. A full kitchen includes an oven, stove, kettle and toaster. The unit has its own braai area. The chalet is air conditioned. One bathroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. There is also a second, separate toilet.

Log Cabins

Ingulule (Suite 3) – Sleeps four guests. The master bedroom features a king size bed and a three-quarter bed, with en suite bathroom (shower and toilet). There is a small viewing deck, a well-equipped kitchenette (fridge, stovetop, microwave, kettle, toaster), and dining table. The lounge area has a television and a sleeper couch. There is also a braai area. The cabin is air conditioned.

Imvubu (Suite 4) – Sleeps four guests. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a fold-out sleeper couch, with en suite bathroom (glass shower, wash basin), and a separate toilet. The kitchenette is well-equipped (fridge, stovetop, microwave, kettle, toaster), and the suite has a dining table on a private viewing deck. There is a braai area, and the unit is air conditioned.

Ndlovu (Suite 5) – Sleeps five guests. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a three-quarter bed and a fold-out sleeper couch. An en suite bathroom comprises a glass shower and wash basin, and there is a separate toilet. The Ndlovu has a well-equipped kitchenette (fridge, stovetop, microwave, kettle, toaster), and a dining table on private viewing deck. There is a braai area too. The unit is air conditioned.

River View Rooms

Ingwe (Unit 6) – This is a smaller air conditioned thatched chalet that has three single beds with an en suite shower and a separate toilet. The shower offers a curtain, which can be drawn for privacy. The unit has a mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave and hot plate, coffee/tea-making facilities and is equipped with a few cooking utensils and crockery. The unit offers a sheltered patio with a dining table, where you can enjoy a barbeque (braai) in the evenings. There is no living room area.

Ingwenyama (Unit 7) – This smaller, air conditioned thatched chalet can accommodate three guests. The chalet has a queen size bed and a three-quarter bed with an en suite shower and a separate toilet. The shower offers a curtain, which can be drawn for privacy. The unit has a mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave and hot plate, coffee/tea-making facilities and is equipped with a few cooking utensils and crockery. The unit offers a sheltered patio with a dining table, where you can enjoy a barbeque (braai) in the evenings. There is no living room area.

Luxury Suites

Bateleur Luxury Suite (Suite 8) – Sleeps four guests. The master bedroom has a; king size bed as well as a fold-out sleeper couch. There is a television and an en suite bathroom (shower), and a separate toilet. This room is air conditioned. The second bedroom, with its queen size bed, is on a “sleep-out” deck beneath a thatched roof with roll-down canvas. There is a roof fan, a wash basin and a separate toilet. The deck area has a dining table and a well-equipped kitchenette with a microwave and stove. There is a braai area below the entrance to the suite and it has complimentary WI-FI.

Martial Eagle Suite (Suite 9) – This unit sleeps four guests. The master bedroom features a king size bed, a three-quarter bed, a fold-out sleeper couch and a television. The en suite bathroom,a separate toilet. shower and washbasin. The second bedroom has two single beds with an en suite bathroom, separate toilet, shower and wash basin. The suite is air conditioned and has complimentary WI-FI. The deck area has a dining table and a well-equipped kitchenette, with a microwave and stove. The braai area is below the entrance to the suite.

• The proximity to Crocodile Bridge Gate (50 m) provides easy access to the Kruger National Park, allowing guests to venture into the park for self-drive safaris.
• Sunset, night drives, and bush walks can be arranged as well. Bush braais in Kruger are also possible.
• Other nearby attractions include golf courses, spa facilities, and cultural village tours. Horse safaris, day tours to Mozambique, Swaziland and the Panorama Route, Sudwala Caves and tiger fishing tours and sunset cruises can be arranged.
• Shopping and dining is available in the town of Komatipoort which is 12 km away.
