About Arniston Hotel
The Arniston Spa Hotel, situated between De Hoop Nature reserve and Cape Agulhas – the southernmost tip of Africa where the two oceans meet, comprises 67 rooms – of which half are facing the Indian Ocean, the other half pool facing; two restaurants; a Ginkgo Spa; complimentary bicycles and a Kids Club which runs during the South African school holidays and long weekends.
Arniston, also know as Waenhuiskrans – named after the large limestone cave interpreted as wagon house cliff, also has one of the last working fishing villages – Kassiesbaai, which is a heritage site. The local fishermen supply the hotel with delicious freshly caught line fish and oysters. The Scottish crofting architecture is unique to Kassiesbaai.
Hiking, trail running, cycling and swimming are popular outdoor activities. Day trips include a visit to Cape Agulhas, Bredasdorp, Napier and de Hoop Nature Reserve as well as the wine farms around the missionary village of Elim.
